Who is Mindfulness West?

Marisa Collins, MD MHSc CCFP FCFP 

Marisa (she/her) is a family physician with focussed practice in sexual & reproductive health and mental health. She earned Certification to teach Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) through the Centre for Mindfulness Studies and the University of Toronto, and has additionally trained to deliver Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention for addictive behaviours (MBRP), and Mindful Awareness and Resilience Skills for Adolescents (MARS-A). Marisa is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Practice, University of British Columbia. She is the College Doctor at Pearson College UWC. Marisa's personal mindfulness practice includes open-water swimming and cold water dips as often as possible.

Grace Davies, BA PCP


Grace (she/her) works at Pearson College UWC as the Medical Assistant and body image counsellor. She is also a Paramedic with BC Ambulance. Grace has taught yoga and meditation for over five years. She maintains a holistic perspective on health that incorporates both traditional and alternative approaches to wellbeing. Grace holds a BA in psychology and has been accepted into a Master’s program in Clinical Counselling. She will be assisting Marisa with the MBCT program in 2021- 2022.
